Category Archives: Ramblings

There are several times when I passed by this burger restaurant, we noticed that people were queuing without fail. Me being me,  the temptation and curiosity of trying the burgers increases every time we passed by! I mean, a restaurant that is constantly swarmed with people, it got me thinking: that burger must be damn good right? The thought of it was in my mind since my last trip here, last year. I didn’t get the chance to give it a try.

Few days ago, we’re back here and passed by that restaurant again, and boy, still! people were queuing! I told to myself that we HAVE to try! So finally, we took the plunge, we were in line with those people yesterday. Haha!

We waited about 35 minutes, it was freezing cold (5°C) and windy. But we still waited till it was our turn. THIS BURGER BETTER BE GOOD!!!

Patty & Bun is the name of the restaurant, it’s located at;

54, James St London W1U 1HE.

Just about 3 minutes walk from Bond Street Station.

It’s a small restaurant, hence they don’t take any reservation and they don’t take for 10 pax and above. It’s first come first serve basis.

After all that wait and shivering, we were seated and already feeling hungry. Let’s see if it’s worth the wait.

We ordered:

‘Ari Gold’ Cheeseburger – beef patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickled onions, ketchup, Smokey P&B mayo, brioche. £7.50

Omaigod. I’m already drooling.

I had:

‘Smokey Robinson’ burger – Beef patty, cheese, tomato, lettuce, mounds of caramelised onions, ketchup, Smokey P&B mayo, brioche. £8.50.

You know what, it was so good that I don’t mind queuing again. I’m the type of person who rarely finish my meal whenever we eat outside and always had to make it to go. Surprisingly, I actually finished it. Burger that size, usually will taste ‘jelak’ half way, but this one, was PERFECT! And it wasn’t dry like any other burger out there. Burger bakar? Nigga please. It was cooked medium rare which make it JUICYYYYYYYYY BABEYHHHHH!

Man, I don’t mind having one now as I speak!

And oh, we also ordered sides, which was ‘Winger Winger Chicken Dinner’. Smoked confit wings with BBQ sauce and spring onions £5.50.

It was also good, the sauce was thick and creamy. (Blurred picture coz we couldn’t wait any longer!)

After I finished my burger, I actually can take one more. Can you believe it? But I decided not to because I’ve been eating TOO much the moment I arrived London. All I did was eat and be a potato couch. Dammit! I don’t know if it’s the weather or I simply love to eat. haha

We didn’t really get to snap pictures inside of the restaurant because we were kinda hungry that we ordered our meals the moment we sat down. Secondly, we were cramped between other customers and our layers of coats. Lastly, this kind of small restaurant with people queuing for it, you basically have to leave ASAP after you’re done. Eat & Go.

We will definitely go again and try the rest that is on the menu like the ‘Lambshank Redemption’ burger.

My oh my.

I ate so much that I feel guilty and went for a jog the next day. 30 minutes later, I went back home coz I was freezing to death. Haha.

A day in China Town, Kuala Lumpur

Few weeks ago, I decided to do a combination of street and fashion photography in China Town, Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur. I took the LRT and stopped at the Pasar Seni station because it’s rather more convenient than to find a parking spot. Petaling street is just a walking distance from the station, so it’s easy. And besides, you get to see more things when you walk. But always be aware with your surroundings, especially when you carry a handbag. There’s always cases where motorcyclist snatch your handbag or even your mobile phone (while you are busy talking on the phone). My advise is to walk the opposite direction of the traffic. That way you can see what’s approaching you.

I don’t mean to scare you by telling all this. Just be alert.

In china town, there’s a variety of stuff from imitation goods to street food. You can get LV bags, Fendi shades or even Tory Burch shoes at a very cheap price when you bargain your way through. Most street food here are non halal, so we cannot tell you if it’s great or not. But one thing you cannot miss when you do come here, is the ‘air mata kucing’. Its da BOMB I’m telling you!

What is ‘air mata kucing’? It’s a drink that is made of winter melon (tong kua), monk fruit (lo han kor), dried longan and sugar. You can either have it cold or warm. I like it cold to quench my thirst in this hot sunny weather.

Petaling street is a tourist spot, so it can be really crowded here sometimes.

One thing in Malaysia, drivers don’t stop even when you’re on a zebra crossing. Even if the traffic light is green for you to walk, you still need to look left and right before you cross. Crazy right? I know.

Run for your life.

As I was on my way back to the station, I stopped by at the Central Market / Pasar Seni. If you’re looking for souvenirs or local artwork, you definitely can get pretty awesome stuff here. It’s just few metres away from Petaling street.

That’s it!

Roaming around Petaling street.

Time Management & Self-discipline

A lil late, but, Happy New Year!

What did you guys do on New Years Eve? Did you go all out? Or did nothing at all?

Well, I had a nice dinner and then I went home snuggled in bed while watching movie during the countdown. Whaaaat? What happened to the party animal in me right? I guess I just got tired of being in the sweaty crowd and the noise… It’s agitating… Plus, the recovering part feels like it takes ages. Too much effort and waste of time! Well, I had too much fun, gone through that phase, so it’s okay for me to say that. haha

I’m sure by now you guys should know that I study and work at the same time to survive. I do plenty of jobs like TV commercials, print ads, direct selling, insurance agent and also used to work in an event company. Most of the time, working in the entertainment line requires me to work long hours. Like crazy long hours. Call time at 5am and the shoot will probably end the next day, yes, and that was Rexona. There are plenty more, but I cannot remember.

I often get questioned on how I did it and the answer is, good time management. I managed my time properly, that in a way I get to do MANY things in one week. I’m always on the go and I’m always busy. It really feels good to be productive. Here are some tips that I would like to share with you;

    • CARRY A PLANNER WITH YOU. A small one will do. I carry mine in my handbag everywhere I go!
    • JOT IT DOWN. Write down any appointments or to do list every time it came across your mind or when you set an appointment. So that you won’t forget! We’re humans, not robots. My planner is always FULL.
    • PLAN AHEAD. I usually plan my week every Sunday night. I occupied my planner with classes, appointments and etc. With this, I should know how my schedules are like for the week whenever any talent agency call me up and second, I won’t simply screw up my plans! :)

Three simple steps that could help you to be efficient. But not so simple when you don’t implement it. I can write whatever I want to do in my planner, like going to my class or workout. And in reality, I didn’t. I will only be lying to myself, and will get me nowhere. Thus, you also have to be discipline in order to be efficient. It’s not easy, so take baby steps and sooner you’ll get used to it.

As for me, I have goals to achieve, that keeps me going and motivating me at the same time. That’s simply because I want to do SO many things. Too ambitious sometimes. But, having goals is good! You should set your goals too! So that you know what you want in life, and that way, it will keep you on track!

And you know what? I just graduated (December 2013)! I did so many things, from having fun, partying, catching one plane after another, kept finding jobs to survive and yet, I did it. I wanted to give up so many times because I rather work and I needed the money but I kept going. It was tough and I’m damn proud of myself that I didn’t give up. It was emotional for me, that I wanted to cry so loud when I was going up on the stage to get the certificate during the commencement ceremony. Like a relief. But I just tear a lil and tried to force it back in.

All the hard work, totally worth it. I am now a graduate of  Bachelor of Science degree in double major.

Baju Kurung Dress

I’m currently in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam and this is an impromptu blog post. My dearest aunt gave me this beautiful baju kurung from Dubai and I decided to blog about it! My fiancé is not here with me on this trip, hence I’ll be taking my own photos! I guess this is the chance for me to write a post from my phone. Note that the photos were taken from Galaxy Note 2 and it was all taken by me (self-timer). So mind the angle because I’m really not good at taking photos.

Baju kurung is a traditional Malay wear for the ladies in Malaysia. What I have here with me now is a modern baju kurung. What I love about it, some of the modern baju kurung is so beautiful and stylish that I can wear it out as a dress. Well, not all, because some will really look weird. So you must choose wisely which you can wear out as a dress and which must remain as a baju kurung!

The details and cutting of this baju kurung is simply gorgeous!

Is it a YAY or a NAY as a dress?

Have a great Sunday!

Eczema Attack

I have not updated my blog for weeks now nor do I go out to socialize with people. I’ve been suffering due to my eczema for about 4 weeks now. Eczema is a form of chronic inflammation of the skin. I have red patches of rashes from tip to toe,  itching and dryness, crusting, flaking, blistering, cracking, oozing, and bleeding (ALL!!!!). My eyes are swollen pretty bad that I barely can open my eyes, my neck is the worse and also other parts of my body. No pictures taken because I’m simply not ready for that. This really affects my lifestyle, because with this condition, I just wanna stay home and hide from everybody. Then how am I suppose to work and meet people? And when I read or do my school work, I can’t concentrate and easily distracted because it ITCHES LIKE MAD!!!!

Eczema is believed to result from a genetic defect and weak immune system. I often get sick very easily. Eczema will permanently resolve by age 3 in about half of affected infants. In others, the condition tends to recur throughout life. Unfortunately, I have eczema since I was a baby and it seems like I will have this for a lifetime! It comes on and off, but this time is pretty chronic. The condition is not contagious and can’t be spread from person to person. There is no cure to it, just that I have to manage it with medical treatment and by avoiding irritants. By means, I have to avoid seafood coz I’m allergic to it. Trust me, I was trained since I was young not to eat seafood so, I have absolutely no cravings for any sorts of seafood. Well, I can only eat Salmon and cod fish. Seafood, no biggie. BUT, sambal belacan or asam laksa. I cried and beg my mom for it when I was a kid. Most malay food has  sambal belacan (contain dry chrimp) in it, and Asam Laksa, most of them is cooked with mackerel fish. Pretty sad case. Other irritants would be type of soap or lotions I can use, my type of soaps and lotions are those with no chemical and no foams. And these types of soaps and lotions are not cheap at all. Probably cost 4 times than any normal soap. I’m high maintenance NOT by choice. (Don’t know whether I should laugh or sob about it coz I spent so much just for my skin already!)

I can’t be feeling too hot or too cold, as it may cause an outbreak. Stress may cause the condition to worsen. OMAIGOD!!! How la?!

This is really suffering, I don’t think anyone understand how I feel unless you’re experiencing the same thing. I feel really low about myself at this moment that I just don’t want to do anything at all. It’s depressing. But I have to keep moving forward and be positive. I know by just sitting and crying won’t do a thing.

Yes, I’ve seen many doctors and specialist. They all gave me the same thing which is steroids. This is one thing, that I would much want to avoid. I’ve been taking this since I was a kid, it only helps for a while and it aggravates even more in future.  So, I had enough of that and chose to go for natural remedies. The only thing with natural remedies is that I have to be REALLY patient because it won’t work overnight, it will take about at least two months till you see the result. I’ve tried Chinese herbs but I kinda gave up coz of the boiling process. I do still take herbal supplements like Olivenol. I’m trying other methods that might help my eczema, I will blog about it after two months! I hope and pray this will be over soon.

I cannot give up!

I’m back!

Hi everyone! I’m starting my new blog here and no longer using What do you think about my blog? It was designed by my darling friend Haze Long! Thanks to her, I have a stylish blog than I had before! Also not forgetting, my fiancé who helped me a lot with this blog and encouraged me to start blogging again.

Let me update you bloggers about me. I still have short hair… Well, I tried keeping it long, and boy it was tough! gah. The need to trim it every month, the heat in Malaysia weather and it kinda annoys me time to time. But hey! I managed to keep it for about a year!

The longest hair length I managed to keep! haha!

After all that, I finally decided to cut my hair again for my birthday. Yes, I was probably already half way there for having a long hair, but heck it, I could not take it anymore.

Back to short!

Okay. Enough about my hair.

I still am a TVC talent. My recent exposure is Old Town White Coffee print ad, a TVC ad for Indonesia biscuit and Umobile TVC and print ad. On top of that, I’m still studying major in Marketing and Management and hooray! This is my final year! I’m so excited because to be honest, I can’t wait to just focus on work. I’m currently in London for my summer break and this weekend will be my last stay here. Boohooo.

I will update you more soon! Stay tuned!
